Creatures

Species

Description

Dragon

Large reptillian creature of varying colors and appearances. They are the source of most magic and the rulers of M'atoi

Darkling

Medium sized rodent like animal with the appearance between a platypus and a rabbit. Typically they have soft black or dark brown fur, rodent face, round flat tail, and tall pointed ears. They can travel in shadows and are used to send messages and items from one person to another. They bond to their owners through blood.

Gackling

Large herding animal with yellow and gray mottled hides. They smell awful do to their primary food source, the benjanni plant.

Glube

Large predatory cat with brown fur and antlers or horns.

Gnarlroot

Small snake-like animals that mimic tree roots and branches. They have numerous tiny legs and tendrils that release a venom that liquifies tissue and drains nutrients from its prey.

Griffin

Large predatory animal with red feathers on a head similar to a vulture. The feathers gradually become a dull brown along the large wings. The legs and body are brown and resemble a lion and have a narrow tail ending in small ball of reddish brown fur.

Huska

A small game animal resembling a rabbit.

Jilla

Flying insect with purple eyes and long pinchers. They are an endangered species and considered good luck..

Plant Life

Name

Description

Benjanni

A weedy green plant that smells awful and spreads rapidly. It is the gacklings main food source.

Flutia

A beautiful bright red blooming flower.

Ingleberry Bush

Large green bush with small seasonal edible purple berries. Berries are also used as a dye. Eating the berries when unripe can cause a person's skin to take on a bright purple hugh.

J'ander Trees

Huge hardwood trees that grow near water. Wizards often use their branches as staffs.

Resti

A plant with large green rubbery leaves. The leaves are used to wrap parishables to keep them fresh. The leaves have a bitter taste, but when taken orally can help to counteract the effects of unripe ingleberries.

Solandry

A huge purple flower with six foot leaves with dark purple veins. The stem stands over nine feet tall and the flower droops from the stem. Appears like an upside down tulip.
